People Plus Consulting Limited (PPCL) is a privately owned and operated company that has been incorporated since 1991. PPCL’s primary business focus is the delivery of career and employment-related services contracts negotiated with Employment Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education.

Organizational Background

People Plus Consulting Limited (PPCL) is a privately owned and operated company that has been incorporated since 1991. Judy MacKay and Charlotte Hatfield are the principals of the company. PPCL’s main source of revenue is from contracts to deliver career and employment related services negotiated with the Province of Nova Scotia.

 

Past Projects and Timelines:

  • 1991 – Job search workshops delivered in the HRM for unemployed individuals in Halifax, Bedford and Dartmouth locations

  • 2001 – Job Junction was established in Halifax as a self-serve resource centre

  • 2004 – Case management services were introduced and delivered at the Job Junction location

  • 2009 – The OWL Project (Older, Wiser Labour Force) was introduced to provide employment readiness assistance to mature workers

  • 2011 – The agreements for workshop delivery, case management services and self-serve resource centre were merged into one and delivered out of the Job Junction location on Mumford Rd

  • 2016 – Began delivery of Itinerant Services in the Spryfield Community

  • 2020 – Full integration of Special Projects (OWL, Recent Grad, Youth Programming) as regular suite of services offered by PPCL through Job Junction

In addition to the above, PPCL has developed and delivered numerous other short-term projects such as career fairs, youth and older worker initiatives. The organization also provided service and support for Contact IV, the client data base management system for third party organizations funded by government to deliver employment services.
