Train the Trainer - A comprehensive Training for Job Search Professionals

People Plus Consulting has developed a comprehensive one-week session (30 hr) designed to train job search facilitators in the latest and most effective job search strategies utilized in one-on-one and/or group settings. This course will give job search professionals an enhanced ability to facilitate job search workshops to their clients.


Outline: Theory and Practice

 

The Role of the Facilitator
• Practical application and theory behind facilitation techniques and adult learning principles

Introduction to the Labour Market
• How to coach proactive job searching and suggestions on how to present LMI to clients in a user-friendly format

The Résumé
• Types of résumés, assisting the client in determining relevance, coaching the writing process and options for dealing with “difficult résumés”

Skills Identification
• A unique approach to identifying and assessing the marketability of past experiences with your clients

Effective Writing Style for Résumés
• Providing the client with opportunities to take ownership of their résumés

References
• Choosing references, what to say, how to write them, and options for clients who lack references

Cover Letters
• Types of cover letters, samples, resources, and effective critiquing

Today’s Job Search
• Answers to all those questions about finding work and applying online, and options for providing computer-based and online services for your clients

The Hidden Job Market
• Accessing the hidden job market and tips to encourage your clients to take up a proactive job search

The Job Card
• “The best networking tool in the business”; creating business cards for job seekers

Organizing Your Job Search
• Assist clients in achieving the focus and confidence required to be effective in their job searches

Networking with Employers
• How to facilitate and encourage clients to take control of their job search and develop contacts and networking skills


The Interview
• Coaching clients through the interview process; preparation, handling difficult questions, fresh ideas, and overcoming fears

The Ongoing Job Search
• After the intervention, supporting your clients after the workshop
