People Plus Consulting Limited has been specializing in job search workshops and services since 1992. Our goal is to improve our clients' employment prospects by providing resources that aid in identifying opportunities within their occupational field, thereby shortening the duration of their employment search.


For many, the job loss cycle leads to feelings of uncertainty, rejection, inferiority and passivity. We facilitate a proactive method of job search that assists clients in developing a unique self-marketing plan, thus enabling them to confidently identify and approach potential employers. All services and workshops are provided in a supportive environment that respects the dignity and diversity of all job seekers.


Our clients range from recent graduates of private institutions, technical schools, community colleges and universities, to unemployed or seasonal workers and those in mid-career transitions. Referrals are not required and you do not have to be an EI recipient to access these valuable free services.

 

Previous participants often report that the workshops provided them with the knowledge and self-sufficiency needed to conduct an effective job search, not only during the time that they attended the workshop, but also when the need arose again later. Having played an integral role in the development of their own job search tools, our clients are able to actively resume an effective job search, customizing and applying their knowledge of resume building, cover letter writing and successful interviewing. Their understanding of networking strategies, appropriate references, the use of job cards, and the application of technology is of benefit in subsequent job searches.

Through years of experience, our expert facilitators have developed group management techniques proven to be effective in delivering job search interventions to individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and occupational objectives.

 

 

Judy MacKay - Manager


Judy MacKay has extensive experience in guiding job search projects and has consistently developed services that have set the standard for job search workshops in our area.

 

 

 

Owen Barton BBA, AIT - Workshop Manager / IT Coordinator

Owen has a Degree in Business Administration and an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology from ITI, as well as a strong background in providing successful job search interventions. As Workshop Manager, Owen has built a reputation for strong leadership, lively facilitation and expert technical support.

 

Tammy Murray B.Sc- Facilitator

Tammy Murray possesses a B.Sc. in Psychology and brings to People Plus over 10 years of professional experience in client-focused adult education. She has extensive experience in the development, implementation and enthusiastic delivery of curricula specifically designed to meet the needs of diverse groups. Tammy is a certified Level I Personality Dimensions Facilitator who is greatly appreciated for her expert advice, as well as her approachable and empathetic manner.

 

 

Nancy Swallow - Administrative Assistant

Highly organized and efficient, Nancy provides all of the administrative support for the office and assists clients during the computer workshops. With over twenty years of experience in providing professional administrative support and high quality customer service, Nancy is quickly becoming a client favorite to all those who have benefited from her wealth of experience and warm personality.

 

 

Jane Karrel - Facilitator

With over seven years experience in providing comprehensive employment services, Jane Karrel has demonstrated a client-centered approach to skills identification and workshop delivery thus assisting clients to overcome employment barriers and to gain the confidence and self-sufficiency to actively pursue their career objectives. Jane possesses a Certificate in Human Resource Management from St. Mary’s University and brings a wealth of knowledge of case management and community resources, which will greatly enhance her contribution to People Plus Consulting as an Employment Facilitator.
